MGM Resorts-owned by BetMGM online launch dates back to August 2017 when it first launched its online casino and poker room. A year later saw the platform enhance its market by providing a sportsbook to the New Jersey residents. In the few years, it has been in existence, BetMGM has attracted visitations with many players creating accounts with the casino. Below we take a review.

Sports and markets: Plenty To Pick From

BetMGM had its sportsbook launched in 2018 where New Jersey players had an avenue to place online sports bets through the site. The website offered two main mediums that bettors would use to access the games. BetMGM boasts of a no-download browser-based interface that sees the players able to use their browsers to view the games and place bets on them. Another avenue is the mobile application which sees the players downloading an application and later going ahead to play the games from there.

Additionally, there are various betting types available on the sports section. They include; Futures, Moneyline, Parlays, Point Spreads, Player props, Game props, Straight bets, and Totals. However, the markets offered on the platform are not as impressive. Huge markets offered normally signify higher chances of winning from the events offered. However, in comparison to other rival sportsbooks, much needs to be done on this section.

Some of the top competitors to BetMGM include; Caesars, SugarHouse, Golden Nugget, Resorts, Hard Rock, and Borgata.

Average Odds & Limits

The odds provided by BetMGM are not the best. For a start, the platform has provided the odds in one format (American format) as opposed to many that offer the odds in three popular formats (American, Fractional, and Decimal). This would mean that for every patron who does not understand the American format well will have a hard time while placing bets.

BetMGM betting margins are not the best with the site providing margins that go above 3%. A platform will be considered to have the best odds when the betting margins are at the lowest which signifies that chances of bigger payouts are huge. However, when the betting margins get higher, it means that chances for bigger payouts are lower. That notwithstanding, BetMGM has offered features that ensure odds can improve. In-play betting is one such feature that has seen the site accept live bets. These are bets that are taken as the game is ongoing. A player will look to capitalize on the enhanced odds which depict huge returns when the bets align. There is also a ‘boosted odds’ feature where players have their bets boosted from the selections made. This normally presents another avenue where bettors have higher returns than normally would be on another day.

On the limits section, there is no maximum withdrawal limit that has been placed but what a player must know is that the minimum wager on the platform is $2. However, in line with responsible gambling, BetMGM has put up limits to ensure those addicted can wager responsibly. The limits include time limits where players limit the number of hours they will be on the platform on a particular day and the other type of limit is the spending limit where bettors are given an avenue to limit their daily loss.

BetMGM offers three main sections and there are promotions tailored for every section. Live streaming has become one of the most sort after features on any sportsbook. The feature allows bettors to catch up with some of the events live as they happen. Many services and processes can be accessed through apps. New players can create an account through the app and they can go-ahead to participate in the promotions. BetMGM sportsbook is fairly new in the market and with the efforts made in less than a year, players will be thrilled and they will anticipate for more. More games are needed whatsoever and more high-value promotions are needed on the platform. There also need to be an improvement in the odds section from lowering the margins to offering different formats

BetMGM also offers a casino and poker section that has since been welcomed. The number of casino games is pleasing and this has seen more and more players joining. The platform’s customer service has also been lauded as effective, the mobile platform has been welcomed positively, and players will expect more to be done on the payment section with few methods offered.
